Tax season is fast approaching and with increasing complicated tax laws, more and more people flock to certified tax preparers so they do not have worry about doing them on their own. When the new year rolls around, you will see a wealth of advertisements asking for new tax preparers for the tax season.
If you find yourself struggling with your at-home business during the first three to six months of the year due to the “new year lull” that happens after the holidays, you can obtain your tax preparer certification and seek employment with one of the many tax preparer companies that spring up out of nowhere in January. In most cases, you can expect to work part time hours with employment ending after April: when many at-home business start to pick up steam again.
In many cases, the training is paid and if you like the job, your certification for the next season is often faster than your initial training. This is a great way to increase your flow of income during a traditionally tough part of the year. It is also a good way to make business contacts, because many of the people you will prepare taxes for have small businesses and may be in need of your services.
